Kris Jenner Will Always 'Feel Guilty' For Not Preventing Nicole ...

Kris says she saw the signs that something was wrong.

Nicole Brown Simpson was tragically killed decades ago, but Kris Jenner still feels somewhat responsible for her friend's untimely death.

The momager opened up about the blonde beauty's rough relationship with former football player O.J. Simpson in the LMN documentary The Secret Tapes of the O.J. Case: The Untold Story.

The 59-year-old says Nicole was afraid of her ex-husband, and Kris said she saw signs of abuse, explaining:

"At the end of Nicole's life, I think she finally was at a place where she knew she had to be more vocal with what was going on and she was in trouble. The one thing she would tell all of us by the time, you know, it got to that level was, 'He's going to kill me and he's going to get away with it.' "

In 1994, Nicole — who had filed for divorce from the athlete two years earlier – was found stabbed to death in her LA home, along with waiter Ronald Goldman.

Although her former flame was arrested, and all the evidence seemed to indicate he was the murderer, he ended up being acquitted in 1995.

Now, Kris says she feels partially responsible for what happened to Nicole.

But it's not because her ex, the late Robert Kardashian, was one of the lawyers representing O.J. — they were divorced long before the terrible tragedy.

Instead, she regrets not being more vocal about what she saw in Nicole's relationship, saying:

"I will always feel guilty that I didn't pay more attention and didn't speak up when I thought anything was wrong or asked her more, 'Do you want to talk about it?' "
