Kris Jenner says she “will always feel guilty” over Nicole Brown Simpson’s death. Watch below.
Jenner makes the comment in the upcoming Lifetime Movie Network documentary, “The Secret Tapes Of The O.J. Simpson Case: The Untold Story.” Jenner and Brown Simpson were best friends in the years leading up to her killing, and Simpson himself was in Jenner’s wedding party when she married Robert Kardashian. Kardashian would later serve as one of his defense advisers during his murder trial.
Now 20 years since Simpson was acquitted, Jenner is reflecting on her late friend and what she possibly could have to prevent her murder. “At the end of Nicole’s life, I think she finally was at a place where she knew she had to be more vocal with what was going on and she was in trouble,” says the Kardashian-Jenner matriarch. “The one thing she would tell all of us by the time, you know, it got to that level was, ‘He’s going to kill me and he’s going to get away with it.’”
Jenner confesses, “I will always feel guilty that I didn’t pay more attention and didn’t speak up when I thought anything was wrong or asked her more, ‘Do you want to talk about it?'” And when the “not guilty” verdict was announced, the momager says her then-ex husband Kardashian was “shocked.” She recalls, “He was definitely stunned. I mean you could look at his face and see it. I’ve known him my entire life. I know that like he was… he was floored that that was the verdict.”
Kardashian ultimately had his own falling out with Simpson, and they were no longer friends when Kardashian died of cancer in 2003. Jenner reveals, “O.J. did try to reach out and call him, but Robert didn’t take the call.” “The Secret Tapes of the O.J. Case: The Untold Story” premieres on September 30.
