Hot weather, big crowds, great music: all phrases describing the two-weekend music festival Coachella. The 2014 Coachella music festival, put on by Goldenvoice, just recently occurred (April 11-13 and April 18-20). This event, which takes place in Indio, CA, is very unique in its lineup and goers. The lineup contained very different music types: from indie with artists like Broken Bells and Neutral Milk Hotel to hip hop with Outkast to rock with Queens of the Stone Age. Though very different sounds, all kinds of people attended the different concerts.
Weather this year hit temperatures up to 100 degrees and winds up to 60 miles per hour.
There is also a great variety of food available for attendees: Grilled Cheese Truck, Coolhaus ice cream, Umami burger.
William Brady, a Wilson senior, expressed that his favorite show was Disclosure. “I was dancing the whole time. Oh, and I was next to Joe Jonas during Lana Del Rey!” Brady stated.
Coachella is known to be a stomping ground for celebrities such as the Jonas Brothers, Vanessa Hudgens, Robert Pattinson, and the Jenner sisters.
Coachella 2014 was definitely a great time for whoever attended, and it will be hard to top in 2015!
