Giving fans new reasons to celebrate, Lionsgate Entertainment has already approved production for “Divergent” sequel, “Insurgent!”
Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer released a statement about the second film, saying, “We’re off to a great start with strong numbers from all regions of the country, urban, suburban and rural alike.”
Continuing, Feltheimer said, “We’re confident that Divergent is on its way to becoming another important franchise for us, and we have just greenlighted the second film, ‘Insurgent.’”
Set for release on March 20th, 2015, “Insurgent” will see Shailene Woodley reprising her role as protagonist, Beatrice Prior, who “must confront her inner demons and continue her fight against a powerful alliance which threatens to tear her society apart.”
