In a move that was somewhat anticipated and drawn out, Liberty Ross has officially filed for divorce from her cheating husband, Rupert Sanders. In 2011, the “Snow White And The Huntsman” director was caught out by “Us Weekly” in a series of photos embracing Kristen Stewart. It was at that time that the “Twilight” actress publicly apologized for cheating on her boyfriend Robert Pattinson. On Friday, Liberty took the final step in their relationship and filed the documents for divorce in L.A. County Superior Court. TMZ reports:
Ross, who is repped by disso-queen Laura Wasser, is also asking for spousal support, as well as attorney’s fees.
Sanders, who is repped by Lance Spiegel, also filed his response to the divorce petition. He’s also requesting joint custody. He is not asking for spousal support. As for attorney’s fees, he wants to share the costs with Liberty.
After the affair became public, Liberty issued a statement on her relationship. She said, “I believe we’re all on journeys and we’re all given lessons at certain times in our life…sometimes when things seem really bad you have to be able to see the good and learn from it. And move forward as graciously as possible. [This year was] the end of some things and the beginning of something else. Beginnings and endings are always really exciting.”
Did you think it was only a matter of time before they ended up filing for divorce? Surely they definitely tried to work on patching things up between them with the aid of counseling, but alas, it didn’t work out. Are you surprised? At least Rob and Kristen were said to be working things out following the affair and are trying to get through it. What do you think of this whole mess?
