I don't know if it was when we saw that Ellen DeGeneres' best guests ever Sophia Grace and Rosie were in the audience, or when Kevin McHale and Demi Lovato started sharing embarrassing bits (boy band footage and stage pics!) about each other's early years as child stars in Dallas, but you could tell early on that the 2012 Teen Choice Awards was going to be full of cuteness. "This is the best thing that's ever happened!" Sophia Grace squealed as she and Rosie received miniature surfboards for Choice Web Star. She is the best thing that's ever happened, actually.
When Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart offered their surfboards to the screaming fans, it wasn't the first time we've seen such a gesture, of course. But it was hilarious to watch Taylor Lautner sheepishly put his board on the stage instead of offering it out to the crowd. We don't blame him — we'd keep it too!
After Selena Gomez accepted Choice Music Group for The Scene, Kevin Hart and Nina Dobrev couldn't wait to fete the birthday girl, who turned 20 on Sunday, rousing the entire audience into singing Happy Birthday.
In the middle of giving Miley Cyrus' acceptance speech for Choice Female Hottie, Male Hottie Ian Somerhalder paused to explain to the audience that no, he could not take his shirt off.
Sure, Gordon Ramsey and Justin Kirk's "banter" was awkward as hell, but we don't care. Crystal the monkey sticking her tongue at them both is cute no matter how staged it was.
